I've tentatively created a Skype group that people can join with a link, since Skype was the chatting app of choice for many of us. Click this link and make sure you're signed in with Skype. If it doesn't work, post in this board and someone in the group can add you:

I'm aware this is fragmenting of a sort, so if the group doesn't remain active and have a substantial number of zone users in it, I'll disband it and let other things take over. I'm not interested in having my own little slice of the zone, just in suggesting a way to chat that might work for a high number of people.
